Untitled - Rupi Kaur
when they buried me alive
i dug my way
out of the ground
with palm and fist
i howled so loud
the earth rose in fear and
the dirt began to levitate
my whole life has been an uprising
one burial after another
when they buried me alive
i dug my way
out of the ground
with palm and fist
i howled so loud
the earth rose in fear and
the dirt began to levitate
my whole life has been an uprising
one burial after another
In this poem, the author is talking about overcoming tribulations and levitating out of the ground. In the picture the man is levitating and coming out of the ground and he looks to be free of issues.

In this untitled poem the author is talking about being buried with problems and having to fight through them whilst being alone, but with a turn of events all of the problems go away. Even when more problems come about the speaker would pull through and persevere. The speaker Rupi Kaur used her personal influences to impact the delivery of this poem and many others. In this poem the speakers immigrant identity could have brought forth the struggles she must deal with and overcome in her daily life. In this poem the author used lots of personification when it came to her overcoming the earth. Once the speaker overcame the earth "i dug my way out of the ground with palm and fist" the earth "rose in fear" due to the speaker overcoming the challenge. The form of the stanzas allowed the reader to see the contrast of the transition from the pits of destruction to success. The author purposefully used this format to show her own transition. The tone of this piece is very serious and optimistic. In this selection the author shows no mercy when she is trying to overcome her struggles and make her way out. The speaker also never shows any pessimistic views when trying to pull through. This selection proves to show that through anything, even your hardest times when you are alone, you can levitate above your problems by digging your way out.

I like what you are trying to say but i think the poem is about someone who has gotten knocked down a lot in life but they never gave up.when u said ¨Even when more problems come about the speaker would pull through and persevere.¨i agreed with that because it does sound like they´re overcoming a lot of things throughout they´re life.
